The Public Management Academy (PMA) provides an in-depth, yearlong program meticulously designed to strengthen managers’ supervisory and management skills. Through a rigorous curriculum, participants not only enhance their existing proficiencies but also expand their toolkit specifically tailored for the dynamic challenges of the public sector.

Cost: $2,700
Key Program Details:
This immersive program equips managers with the knowledge and practical tools necessary to excel in their roles within government agencies, nonprofit organizations and other public-sector entities.
- Duration: One year
- Customized workshops: 19 sessions
- Capstone project: Practical application of skills
- Total instructor-led contact hours: 123 hours
- Additional hours for project development and implementation: 40 hours
The Journey
Format: Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Program also includes self-paced (asynchronous) assignments.

Core Competency Focus
This academy develops core public management competencies through applied instruction and workplace-based learning.
Participants develop:
- Leadership and supervisory capability in public organizations
- Organizational analysis and operational improvement skills
- Ethical decision-making in public service contexts
- Communication skills for management and reporting
- Problem-solving through applied case-based learning
Applied Learning and Assessment
Learning is evaluated through:
- Case-based assignments
- Applied management exercises
- Written reflections and analysis
- Participation in cohort-based learning activities
- Capstone project (program-wide requirement)
This academy contributes directly to the program’s shared competency framework that supports applied public management practice across all CPM tracks.
