Welcoming Wildcat parents and families

We look forward to welcoming families to campus for 2026 Fall Family Weekend! This weekend is a great opportunity to explore McMinnville, get to know Linfield a bit better and, most importantly, for the chance to spend quality time with your Linfield student.

2026 schedule of events - tentative

Friday, Oct. 23

2-5 p.m.

Registration in Riley Campus Center

Stop by the registration table in Riley Hall to say hello. While there, pick up your welcome packet and any tickets you have purchased. Grab a campus map or brochure on local restaurants.

4-6 p.m.

Wine tasting at a downtown tasting room

Register to participate in the wine tasting held at Linfield's own Acorn to Oak Wine Experience on historic Third Street in downtown McMinnville. While exploring downtown and sampling some Willamette Valley wines, visit with other Linfield parents. You will be joined by some of Linfield's staff and leadership.

$20 fee for those tasting wine.

World Premier of Improvising Murder: A Homicidal Comedy
by Rob Urbinati
Marshall Theatre, Ford Hall

Tickets are $14 for adults and $12 for students, but there is a special $2 off code for those ordering through Linfield's Family Weekend.

Career path exploration and preparation

Join the Career & Life Design team for an engaging and interactive presentation highlighting how students are supported throughout their Linfield journey. Learn how Career & Life Design empowers students to develop the career readiness competencies, professional networks, and real-world experiences needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

Attend a sample class. Three Linfield professors will give a 15-minute lecture on a subject of interest to them.

Men’s Soccer vs. George Fox

Watch the Linfield men’s soccer team take on the Bruins from George Fox.

1-4 p.m.

Explore downtown McMinnville

Linfield is so lucky to have a home in the heart of McMinnville and Yamhill County. Spend an hour or two exploring downtown. Merchants are eager to welcome you. Have some bubble tea at the Velvet Monkey, find your next great read at Third Street Books, unearth a treasure at Oodles or Bella Casa, or simply scout out a restaurant or winery to try later.

1 p.m.

Football game vs. Pacific Lutheran University
Maxwell Field

The Wildcat football team takes on the Lutes of PLU. Reserved seats are $25 each. Those are the seats under the covered bleachers. Linfield students with a valid Linfield ID card are admitted to the game for free and may sit in the general admission seats at no charge. However, if the students wish to sit with family members in the covered stands, they will need to purchase a reserved ticket. 

$25 for reserved (covered) seats; $15 for general admission (uncovered) seats.

2:45 p.m.

Women’s Soccer vs. George Fox
Soccer/Lacrosse Complex

Following the men’s match, the women’s soccer team will play the Bruins.

4 - 9 p.m.

Wildcat Harvest Haunt
IM Field, on Pioneer Way

Introducing the Wildcat Harvest Haunt, a Family Weekend Fall Carnival & Haunted Maze on Saturday, Oct. 18 from 4–9 p.m. on the IM field located off of Pioneer Way and Linfield Avenue!

Join us from 4-5 p.m. for a not so spooky Haunted House, perfect for kids and families. After 6 p.m., the scares get real… enter if you dare until 9 p.m.! Enjoy carnival games, dinner, and a spooky haunted house. All free for students with ID. We can’t wait to welcome families and community members: $10 for adults, $5 for kids. Outside the carnival, check out Trunk-or-Treat, food trucks, and fall drinks open to all.

6 p.m.

Volleyball game vs. George Fox
Ted Wilson Gymnasium, HHPA Building

Cheer on the volleyball game as they take on the George Fox Bruins. No cost to attend.

A glimpse at past family activities

Take in a Wildcat football, volleyball or soccer game.
Attend a sample class. Linfield professors will give a 15-minute lecture on a subject of interest to them. We promise you will not be tested, but you just might learn something.
Take a painting course led by a Linfield art student. No experience necessary.
Learn about Linfield’s Latinx community at the annual Hispanic Heritage Celebración. This community favorite event includes live music, student performances, free food and activities for all ages.
What's known as "Streak Street" on campus is full of pre-game activities. Challenge your student to a game of cornhole!

Take in a Wildcat football, volleyball or soccer game.
